Australian rapper Iggy Azalea is canceling her Great Escape Tour, which had been set to start in September. Ticketholders were first notified of the cancellation via email on Friday. “The Iggy Azalea Great Escape Tour scheduled for this fall has been cancelled and refunds are available at point of purchase”, the email stated. “There will be a new tour planned around Iggy’s new record to be released in 2016 and we apologize for any inconvenience”.
Azalea later confirmed the news in a message to fans on Twitter. “As u may know, the tour is cancelled. I’m so sad and sorry to let my fans down”, she tweeted. “We’ll be back out on the road when the next album is done”. Azalea also reassured fans she’d still be performing at multiple summer events, including Pittsburgh Pride on June 6. Azalea was suppose to hit the road in April, but delayed the tour until the fall due to production delays. The tour was even announced all the way back in December, so it doesn’t come as a surprise to people that this tour was canceled.
