On March 13th, Jennifer Lopez released a music video for her new single “I Luh Ya Papi” featuring rapper French Montana. The beautiful and talented singer, dancer, and actress gives fans a taste of the “old” JLo we remember and love, by replicating her past memorable styles from “back in the day”.
The video begins with Lopez hanging out with her friends and discussing a new concept for the video. They complain about their dislike of the way women are portrayed and objectified in today’s society. In the midst of the conversation, Lopez drifts off into her own dream world where women objectify men, and use them for nothing more than personal pleasure and eye candy.
The video also features Lopez doing some throwbacks to her most infamous looks in the past including the green Versace dress with the plunging neck line and outfits from the “I’m Real” music video featuring rapper Ja Rule.
“I Luh Ya Papi” is the first single off Lopez’s 8th upcoming album, which is expected to be released later this year.
Lopez recently attended an interview with Power 106 radio station to promote the new single. She was asked “what can fans expect from the new album?” Lopez replied “My roots are hip-hop, my roots are R&B, my roots are pop, my roots are Latin. All that always comes out in my records. I’ve always found that when I follow my own heart, that’s when my music is the best. This album is right back to that for me”. Watch the music video for “I Luh Ya Papi” here.
