It looks like college audiences won’t be getting a performance from Jerry Seinfeld anytime soon.
The comedian recently admitted to ESPN Radio host Colin Cowherd that the college scene is getting a bad reputation in the comedy world because it is too politically correct.
Seinfeld claims that all comedians have, “their hot zone. Their heat map. Those are the jokes you do,” and that too much worry over political correctness is actually harmful to comedy.
As an example, he references his 14-year-old daughter, who called her mother ‘sexist’ for suggesting that she may want to go into the city more often to see boys some day.
He says (with regard to the entire generation, apparently) that “they just want to use these words: ‘that’s rascist;’ ‘that’s sexist;’ ‘that’s prejudice.’ They don’t know what the f–k they’re talking about.”
Is the younger generation really in the wrong, or do these comedians just need to get with the times? Let us know what you think!
