Looks like there’s a bit of friction between New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi and General Manager Brian Cashman.
Joe Girardi is excited to have disgraced star Alex Rodriguez back on his team. However, Brian Cashman is singing a different tune. Cashman says that he Rodriguez isn’t a shoo-in to play third base. He stated: “If I signed Chase Headley, he would be the starting third baseman,” “If I traded for a third baseman that was an everyday guy, that would be the move I would be making.”
Girardi, who was at Yankee Stadium to help assemble USO care packages for active Armed Forces personnel earlier on Veterans Day, said he has kept in touch with Rodriguez via phone, text and email this offseason. The manager may even go visit A-Rod this offseason to gauge how he’s doing physically, although like everybody else, he has no idea what to expect from the aging, embattled slugger.
Rodriguez is coming off a 162 game suspension for testing positive for steroids. He has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. He recently peed on his cousins floor to “mark his territory.” He also try to buy the silence of his cousin Yuri Sucart for $1 million dollars.
