During an interview in the June issue of Flare Magazine, Juno star, Ellen Page, opens up about her sexual orientation, the difficulties she had keeping it a secret, and the moment she “came out” to the world.
Ellen revealed her sexuality to her parents when she was 19 years old. She admitted that she felt ashamed, and decided to keep it hidden from the public. As she got older, Ellen felt that it was becoming more difficult to hide because she wanted to be able to show her girlfriend off to the world without anyone judging her. She said “The more time went by, the more something just happened, and, Oh my god I want to love someone freely and walk down the street and hold my girlfriend’s hand.”
Since coming out, Ellen stated that she feels very confident within herself. Well, it definitely shows in her recent photo shoot and “racy” cover for Flare Magazine. The actress is seen baring her toned midriff, and wearing a black bra with an open blazer. She added “I felt happy and confident and the difference was huge. I feel more creatively inspired than I have in years. And I’m sure it has to do with a lot of bricks being taken out of the backpack.”
