L.A. Reid, Epic Records chief, says, it is very likely that Justin Bieber and Michael Jackson will collaborate on an upcoming track.
“Slave 2 the Rhythm,” the song that leaked last year but quickly pulled from the Internet, features both artists. It was originally an outtake from Dangerous but made its way sans Bieber onto Jackson’s newest release Xscape.
Reid was an executive producer on the latest album and the one to sign Beiber in 2009. “I signed Justin, so I feel a loyalty. I feel like I should protect him. That’s my relationship with him. But ‘Slave 2 The Rhythm’ didn’t include him per my direction… If it hadn’t been leaked, it would have been featured but it sort of took a wrong turn.” He also noted, “We’re going to revisit it and do something really special with Justin Bieber and Michael.”
He did not give any details as to the release date on the track or whether or not it would be different from the previously leaked song. He did say, however, that he’s, “pretty sure” a track containing both their voices is in store for the future.
