The true king of talk TV, Michael King, passed away on Wednesday in Los Angeles, from complications from pneumonia. King was 66 years old. Reportedly, he was surrounded by his loved ones at the time.
King was genuine royalty in daytime talk’s kingdom. He created The Oprah Winfrey Show, which ran for a quarter of a century, ending its powerful run in 2011. In addition, King was behind The Dr. Phil Show, which has aired since 2005. Dr. Phil has over 2,000 episodes. King was certainly a talent. We give our condolences to the family in this difficult time.
