Today, the world says goodbye to the first dating game show host, Jim Lange. On Tuesday, his wife Nancy Fleming stated he died from a sudden heart attack at their home. He was 81 years old.

Jim Lange was the first person to host a dating game TV show. He paved the way for all the reality TV dating shows, including “Love Connection, Blind Date, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, and many more. “The Dating Game” aired from 1965 – 1985, but his success did not stop there. He also hosted entertaining game shows such as the Hollywood Connection, $100,000 Name That Tune, and The New Newlywed Game.
