Former Reading Rainbow host LeVar Burton is in hot water.
During a charity event over the weekend, Burton was caught on video reading an excerpt of “Go To F****** Sleep”, an irreverent children’s book.
Burton gave the reading, which was held in front of an audience of adults, as part of a charity event held by the Rooster Teeth production studio’s Extra Life team, a 24-hour video game marathon to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Before the reading, Burton stated:”This is one of my favorite children’s stories.”
Burton, who has been reading to kids on television from 1983-2006, recently said that he wants the Reading Rainbow show to be revived. He started a Kickstarter campaign to bring the show back on TV. He received a $1 million dollar pledge from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. The campaign went on to make millions.
Here is a video of him reading an excerpt of the book. Be warned: There is foul language.
