E! News anchor Maria Menounos is recovering after undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor the size of a golf ball. The tumor was a benign meningioma that took seven hours to remove. The anchor’s mom, Litsa Menounos, is currently battling Stage 4 brain cancer.
Menounos went to the doctor with an ear infection, but it later turned out to be a tumor. She tells People, which hits newstands this week, that she was getting light-headed on set, headaches, and her speech was sometimes slurred.
She had an MRI scan in April and found out that she had a brain tumor called a meningioma. Menounos stayed in hospital for six days after the surgery and with the help from her fiancé Kevin Undergaro she is recovering well.
We wish you all the best Maria!
