Where are the Doctor Who fans in the house?! Sad to see Matt Smith leave the show? Well, get ready to see him on the big screen July 1, 2015. That’s right, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions revealed earlier today that Matt Smith will play “a new character with a strong connection to John Conner.”
Deadline reports Smith’s “major role” will grow in the second and third films of the new rebooted trilogy. The cast consists of; Game of Thrones star Emily Clarke as Sarah Conner, Zero Dark Thirty star Jason Clarke as John Conner, A Good Day to Die Hard star Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, Dayo Okeniyi as Danny Dyson, Byung Hun Lee, and of course the unforgettable Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The film will be directed by Alan Taylor, who also directed Game of Thrones and Thor: The Dark World. Everyone is excited about Smith’s participation in the films. Skydance Productions tweeted, “We don’t have a TARDIS, but we do have a Time Lord: we’re pleased to welcome Matt Smith to the cast of #Terminator.”
