You’re fired, Trump!
NBC has officially released Donald Trump of his duties on “The Celebrity Apprentice.”
NBC entertainment chariman, Bob Greenblatt, was asked, on Thursday, if the presidential candidate would return as the host of the show.
“Absolutely not,” Greenblatt said.
Greenblatt confirmed that while the show will not be back next season, it will continue in the future along with a brand new host.
Trump was fired back in June, after making controversial comments about Mexican immigrants, when NBC along with Univision decided not to air the Miss USA pageant.
Greenblatt only had good things to say about working with the 69-year-old.
“He is a lovely guy. He was very much a collaborator and worked with us closely on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ and, you know, there’s a really effusive great guy,” he said. “We weren’t in any sort of adversarial position.”
Greenblatt said that NBC is currently searching for a new host, and many people have expressed interest. It is possible that the replacement could be a woman.
In 2005, Martha Stewart hosted a version of “The Celebrity Apprentice” for one season.
Although Donald Trump has been causing a major upheaval these days, he is the face of “The Celebrity Apprentice”, and it will be odd seeing someone else as the host.
“You’re fired” won’t sound the same.
But maybe that’s a good thing?
