Ne-Yo released his sixth studio album Non-Fiction. The album opened at No. 5 on Billboard 200 with 59,000 units. Non-Fiction is his sixth consecutive Top 10 album.
When sitting down with Billboard magazine to discuss Non-Fiction, Ne-Yo explained the approach he took for this album was a bit different. He reached out to his fans for a help in order to write songs for the album. When asked about how much of the album is based off of his personal experiences and his fans, Ne-Yo said “About half and half. I knew I wanted to tell my story, but I wanted this to be a little more special than just me putting out another album.” He also stated this is the first time he’s collaborated with his fans, but it’s “definitely not the last.”
The signer/songwriter has written many of the songs we listen to while we are driving down the freeway, including Mario’s Let Me Love You and Beyoncé’s Irreplaceable. He is a musical genius.
