About a week ago One Direction kicked off their largest tour to date. The Where We Are Tour is a worldwide stadium tour with some stadiums that can hold over 80,000 people. With all the noise, it seemed like that many people were in the streets outside of the guys’ hotel in Peru, causing them to have to leave.
In Peru, band members and crew could not sleep at all because of the noise created by screaming fans. Liam Payne and Niall Horan even took to Twitter to ask the fans to quiet down.
When tons of police officers could not stop all of the fans from storming the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco, they asked Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Harry Styles to relocate.
About 250 people were outside the small square in front of the hotel that costs over almost 600 dollars a night.
A source said, “there were hundreds of screaming girls outside the hotel. Police were struggling to keep them back and keep them off the road. The fans with their posters nearly filled the entire square.”
The next day, they left to their next show in Peru.
The first show in Bogota, Colombia over 6,000 officers were assigned to be on duty for the five boys to keep them safe from gun and kidnapping threats. “‘No risks are being taken. The dangers in some of these countries are very real and that’s why management have arranged the world’s best security teams,” another source said.
They then added: “There will be no wandering into the city for partying or sightseeing anywhere deemed dangerous – and Colombia is definitely dangerous.”
