Parents are furious with ABC channel for airing Scandal‘s sex scenes after the classic It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
The Parents Television Council released a statement expressing their outrage and disappointment with the network’s lineup: “Shame on ABC for putting a peep show next to a playground. In less than 26 seconds we were taken from the Peanuts pumpkin patch to a steamy ‘Scandal’ sex scene. Such a transition is grossly irresponsible by the network and entirely unfair for parents. ABC owes families an apology.”
After It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown ended, a scene pops up of Scandal’s Olivia Pope having a sex dream with President Fitz and Jake. Parents are saying they were not given enough time to “change the channel” even though everyone knows Thursdays are officially known as Shonda Rhimes days (Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder). Not to mention, Scandal always comes on at 9pm unless a schedule change is announced in advanced. This is extremely petty. How can the PTC penalize ABC when they could have easily picked up the remote control and changed the channel on time!
Some Twitter users responded to the incident with more humor than outrage. A fan tweeted: “The innocence of Charlie Brown followed by the naughty of #Scandal. Gotta love it :-)” .
