Do you know what it means to “Neville Longbottom?” Here, let us tell you. Neville Longbottom is a beloved, underdog character in the Harry Potter series, and in the film series, he was played by actor Matthew Lewis. Lewis was in his awkward phase for a long time, but as an adult, he’s pretty darn handsome. Fans of the series have now realized that actor Afshan Azad, who played Ravenclaw student Padma Patil in the same franchise, has done the same thing.

Azad was 16 when she played the minor character in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Lots of viewers only know what she looked like then, but she recently tweeted a selfie. Now 27, fans are rabid with comments about how beautiful she is.

Of course, Azad loves all the compliments she’s getting. She just doesn’t really understand them. Lots of times, people grow, change, and look different over the span of 11 years.

Here at The Hot Zone, we think Azad was beautiful as Ron Weasley’s date to the Yule Ball, and she’s beautiful now. Can you think of any other child actors who got the “Neville Longbottom” treatment? Give us some examples in the comments.
