Lucy Hale has apologized to her fans using Twitter after calling herself ‘fat’ on one of her Instagram photos – a photo which she is CLEARLY not fat in.
Hale posted a photo at the weekend for Fathers Day with the caption “You taught me to have soul. I love you daddy”.
Pretty simple and cute right? Yes. Until you read the comments. Hale responded to a hair stylist with a comment “Ugh I was so fat”.
This comment received backlash from many fans.
One user wrote: “Fat? That’s what you take away from this beautiful photo of you and your dad? You weren’t, and even if you were, who cares? How many young girls follow you, and have now seen this? Sigh.”
Hale responded on Twitter Tuesday night with a series of tweets.
“Sometimes I forget that people are watching everything I do and I say things I don’t mean. I’m extremely sorry if my comment about my weight offended anyone,” she said.
“Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. I know people look up to me and I should be way more aware of what I say sometimes.”
“Thanks for all the love and support. Hope y’all can forgive me ! <3.”
Yes, let’s hope her fans can forgive her.
Hale has been nominated in the Choice Drama TV Actress category at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards against her fellow co-stars in Pretty Little Liars.
