Real Housewives of Atlanta star Apollo Nida, husband of Phaedra Parks, was sentenced July 8th after pleading guilty in court for fraud and identity theft charges.
Nida, 35, was charged after being involved in a four-year scheme of identity theft, also bank, wire and mail fraud back in May. The judge could have hit him with anything between 92 and 115 months, but settled for 92 months instead.
“The government did what they had to do,” says Nida when exiting court, which was reported but the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
This will be his second vacation in prison; Nida was previously sentenced to six years for car theft charges between 2003 and 2009. His legal troubles have all played out in past seasons of RHOA. The couple, Nida and Parks, have two very young children together and this incident will definitely play a big role in their future.
“Nida’s sentence should be an eye opener for other like-minded criminals who scheme to steal victims’ identities, defraud them and ignore the consequences of their actions,” says Reginald G. Moore, Special Agent in Charge of the United States Secret Services.
We do hope that people take note of the cause and effects of this case and learn from it.
