Allegedly Rosie Perez was leaving The View, but you guessed the wrong one! It is Rosie O’Donnell.
O’Donnell says goodbye to The View for a second time. Before the end of her last show which took place on February 12, she gave her final good-bye holding her daughter, Dakota in hand, giving thanks to the show and everyone involved.
Thanking the show’s creator Barbara Walters, O’Donnell stated “Well, everybody, I just want to say thank you to all the cast here and the crew, and mostly to Barbara Walters, who has always looked out for me and my life and career and is an amazing woman. We had lunch yesterday, and she sends her love. And I want to thank her for making this show and letting me be on it twice.”
O’Donnell first appeared on “The View,” in 2006 leaving in 2007 after a heated on-air argument with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She returned to “The View” in February 2014, but says good-bye a year later.
“We’ve had fun, and I hope we’re gonna have more, “I’ll come back and do an occasional crafting segment, ’cause I have a hot glue gun and I will travel. Thank you, it’s been really fun,” the 52-year-old comedian said Thursday morning.
The entire good-bye clocked in less than a minute, but O’Donnell posted to her YouTube page a video explaining her reason for leaving the show. During the video she stated the want for being there for her family, as well as dealing with heart disease. You can check out the video of O’Donnell explaining her leave.
