Fans of Despicable Me are thrilled about the new movie, Minions, in theaters nationwide July 10. The film is a prequel about the cute, yellow creatures before they worked with kindly super villain, Gru (Steve Carell). In the prequel, the minions have a crazy-tough boss, voiced by Academy Award winner, Sandra Bullock.
Recently, Bullock asked her what inspired her to be part of the film. Her answer was simple yet poignant.
“My son,” she replied.
Bullock’s son, Louis, is five years old. She wanted to be part of a movie that he could watch and enjoy at his age. As we’re sure you know, Bullock usually does projects that are more adult.
According to Bullock, her little boy is a fan of physical humor and cartoons. She loves the sound of his laugh, so it was an obvious choice to be part of a film she knew he would just adore.
We hope Louis enjoys Minions!
