When it comes to handling bullies, Selena Gomez knows just what to do. She publicly blasted a girl on Instagram for posting a negative comment under her photo. The user, who deleted her account, wrote that Gomez should “burn in hell with cancer.”
Gomez responded to the comment and took a screenshot of it, so she could share it with her 10.8 million followers.
She wrote to the user:
“The comment you left about cancer was absurd. How distasteful of a young woman. I have gone through that battle with fans and family members. You can dislike someone but to wish something that could happen to you or your family is uncalled for sweetheart.
You won’t be winning anyone’s heart that way. Trust me. Educate yourself a tad more. God bless love. Be an amazing woman. You’re beautiful.”
She also added to the post:
“Honestly, I don’t speak up much because it’s simply always taken out of context. But I don’t take bullying well. I have seen too much not to say anything.”
Some fans were on the 21-year-old actress’ side and others thought she was being a hypocrite for calling the Instagram user out and embarrassing her.
Do you think Gomez was right for putting the bully in her place?
