Thursday nights on “ABC” are going to be epic! Shonda Rhimes inked a new deal with ABC Studios to remain with the network through May 2018. Rhimes is getting a three-drama block on Thursday nights in the network’s most ambitious move for the fall 2014-15 season. Scandal is moving to an hour earlier in an effort to launch the new Rhimes drama “How to Get Away With Murder.” The series was created by “Grey’s Anatomy” Peter Nowalk and executive produced by Rhimes. This means that “Grey’s Anatomy” is moving to the 8pm slot. Rhimes’ deal extension has been in the works a long time, given the amount of business she has in play at the Alphabet and her status as an uber-showrunner.
