The ultimate Game of Thrones mystery is revealed.
The director of some of the show’s most epic episodes recently met President Obama, who only had one very important question for him.
“Three weeks ago, I was in the company of the President of the United States,” director, David Nutter, told Entertainment Weekly at Comic-con Friday. “He turned to me, put his hand on my shoulder, and said, ‘You didn’t kill Jon Snow, did you?’”
The leader of the free world asked the director what every GOT fan has been waiting to find out. And apparently, our president is a huge fan of the show. He even told Nutter that the famous Red Wedding episode in season 3 is his favorite.
So what’s the verdict?
“I said, ‘Jon Snow is deader than dead,” Nutter reveals. “I thought I was going to be sent to Guantanamo or something, but fortunately I’m here—but he’s dead.”
There you have it.
Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, also confirmed that the character did indeed die in the season 5 finale.
Despite the confirmations, many fans still don’t believe that Snow is actually gone from the show.
Harington said, in an interview, that he will not be returning to set ,“I’ve been told I’m dead. I’m dead. I’m not coming back next season. So that’s all I can tell you really.”
Of course, with the GOT writers, you never really know what will happen. Even with the deaths of many beloved characters, they haven’t disappointed their fans.
Hopefully, season 6 will be even better than the rest.
