The Wedding Ringer is funny. Funny but not too funny.
The HotZone USA attended an exclusive screening of the movie and it is safe to say it delivers in some cases. The comedy star power of Kevin Hart is what makes the movie enjoyable. The plot is about Doug Harris (played by Josh Gad) is a loveable but socially awkward groom-to-be with a problem: he has no best man. With less than two weeks to go until he marries the girl of his dreams (played by Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting), Doug is referred to Jimmy Callahan (played by Kevin Hart), owner and CEO of Best Man Inc, a company that provides flattering best men for socially challenged guys in need.
The movie does a great job in bringing the comedy to its audience. There are jokes here that will make you laugh your socks off. There is also one scene in the movie where it is disturbing, but leads to the funniest scene of the movie.
Kevin Hart basically plays himself in this movie. He delivers the majority of the jokes which works most of the time but not all. Josh Gad does a great job in playing Doug Harris who is hilarious in his own way. There are surprise cameos throughout the movie (one you will never expect.)
There are some flaws in the movie. I felt that the movie was a little bit too long and the buildup to the events was a little bit slow. Jeremy Garelick who has experience in writing comedies does a good job in directing this movie. It is a comedy romp and if you are a Kevin Hart fan, then this movie is for you.
The Wedding Ringer comes out January 2015.
