Tom Hanks’ Chester Hanks, shared his feelings on when and where to use the N-word. On Tuesday, the rapper known as Chet Haze, shared a video on Instagram with his 20,000 followers, going on a rant saying, “Hip-hop isn’t about race. It’s about the culture you identify with.” The 24-year-old rapper went on to say, “If I say the word n—a I say it amongst people I love and who love me.” In the 281-word rant, Haze revealed his view on what society has come to on racial issues. “We have reached a point where the word can no longer have a negative connotation if we so choose,” stated Haze. “Who is to say only black people can use it?” Later Tuesday afternoon, Haze posted a clarification video in which he says, “Under no circumstances would I ever go up to somebody that I didn’t know and just be like, ‘Hey wassup my n—a’. It’s an unspoken thing between people who are friends who understand each other.”

Haze has a tendency to get into arguments over social media. Earlier this year, Hanks and Rita Wilson’s son went on a Twitter rant against Howard Stern after he questioned the credibility of his rap persona. “[Tom Hanks] must be so annoyed,” Stern conjectured. “Where’d he grow up, Beverly Hills?”
