Here’s round two of the ongoing “Valerie Harper vs. Matthew Lombardo” case.
When Harper was countersued by producer and playwright Lombardo for not revealing her cancer diagnosis, she decided to take a stand. Lombardo believed that she hid her cancer and didn’t tell him when she signed on for her starring role in “Looped”.
Her health reasons forced her to drop out of the play, which cost Lombardo and his production team millions of dollars. He claimed in his lawsuit that Harper and her husband Tony Cacciotti, knew that she had cancer and kept it a secret until it spread. Harper fought back, saying that Lombardo found out she had cancer “the same time she did”.
She filed legal documents stating that she believed the cancer was gone and found that it returned and spread to her brain. She asked the court to throw out the lawsuit.
I wonder what Lombardo’s rebuttal will be. This story seems far from over.
Do you think they should just settle the lawsuit?
