The Queen of Pop, Madonna, seems to be following Pop princess Taylor Swift’s lead with her new music video for “B***h I’m Madonna.”
Swift’s video for her single “Bad Blood” debuted at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards in May and contained a long list of female celebrities including Zendaya, Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid, Jessica Alba, Ellen Pompeo, and Cindy Crawford.
The black and white photos, red accent colors and dark expressions that created Swift’s striking video and social media campaign also permeate Madonna’s most recent teaser for “B***h I’m Madonna.”
The striking similarities have people preparing for a music video face-off.
Madonna posted a picture Tuesday morning on Instagram to give her fans a sneak peak of what is to come, and it looks like another spectacle of female empowerment is headed our way!
The picture looks like a movie poster (just like Swift’s campaign) and it features big names like Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Rita Ora and Miley Cyrus.
With people speculating that Swift wrote “Bad Blood” about Katy Perry, and with Rita Ora having previously dated the 1989 singer’s current boyfriend Calvin Harris, we see where the dramatic ‘music video face-off’ idea is coming from.
However, maybe we should leave all of this fighting in the music videos. In reality, how awesome is it that we get two videos starring a group of strong, butt-kicking women?
Make love and not war, people.
“B***h I’m Madonna” is the third single off of Madonna’s latest album Rebel Heart, and the video is set to premiere exclusively on Jay-Z’s music streaming platform, Tidal.
