Today the World Wide Web Turns 25-Years-Old! The internet is the most important source of information in today’s society. We rely on the internet for many reasons including being able to connect with people from all over the world and research any topic of choice. Twenty-five years ago, on March 12, 1989, Sir Tim Berners-Lee wrote a proposal to create a system for information management. He concluded his proposal by stating that the system would allow people to freely research any information of their choice. As result, the World Wide Web was “born”. Billions of people use the web for work and leisure activities. We are instantly connected through our computers, tablets, and cell phones. The web has become a major part of society and I can only imagine the amazing things the World Wide Web has in store for us in the future.
