1. “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey
It’s true that you either love this song or you hate it, but either way, it’s a great shower song. The acoustics in there are great – no better place to imitate Steve Perry’s unprecedented vocal acrobats. Don’t waste your shower singing on something small. Go big. Don’t stop believing.
2. “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina” from Evita the musical
Broadway has a lot of dramatic ballads, and this is arguably one of its most famous. The melodrama in the lyrics and the music is best recreated while soaping up after a long day’s work. There’s one condition though – you’ve got to be thinking of the Madonna version, from the movie. It’s easy to take this song seriously when anyone else is singing it, and shower singing should never be serious.
3. “… Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears
Almost all of Spears’ songs can be sung in the shower and sung well, but none of them can be captured in that little space quite like this one. This is quintessential Spears and quintessential “I just shaved, but I really don’t want to get out yet” music.
4. “Dancing Queen” by ABBA
You should never sing ABBA in public, not even if it’s a wedding. But if the Swedish supergroup really has a place in your heart, give this one a try during your next, luxurious bathing experience.
5. “Wannabe” by The Spice Girls
Every song by The Spice Girls is a good song. Sorry, but this statement is irrefutable. But this is the best one, and you should sing it at least once a week. Why not sing it in the shower?
6. “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables the musical
If you’re in the shower when you sing it, no one will know those are tears. Besides, what better place to practice the song that won Anne Hathaway that Oscar than the privacy of your own shower?
7. “Pocketful of Sunshine” by Natasha Bedingfield
It’s like Emma Stone in Easy A, except for it’s you.
8. “Lola” by The Kinks
We’ll be honest — you probably shouldn’t sing this anywhere but the shower.
9. “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen
Depending on your average level of cleanliness, this might take up the entire duration of your shower.
10. “Because the Night” by Patti Smith
We get it. Your taste in music is good. Have a nice shower, and don’t rub it in. Well, unless it’s soap. Then definitely rub it in. Please.
