Goodbye, American Horror Story, and hello Broadway! Jessica Lange, winner of a whole bunch of impressive awards (Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, Dorian Awards, and one SAG Award), will return to Broadway in Eugene O’Neill’s play, Long Day’s Journey into the Night. The production is set to open in spring 2016.
The role should be familiar for Lange. She played the same one in a London production of the play back in 2000 – a mother dealing with an addiction to morphine. As for the Broadway stage, that should also be easy for Lange to slip into. She made her Broadway debut in A Streetcar Named Desire as Blanche DuBois, and she returned to the Great White Way in 2005 for a revival of Tennessee Williams’ famous play, The Glass Menagerie. Ryan Murphy, creator of both Glee and American Horror Story, will have a hand in this production.
Congratulations and good luck to Lange in the coming year!
