Star rapper Snoop Dogg shared a meme on Instagram Wednesday, and described TV star Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner as a “science project”, and expressed his frustration about the Vanity Fair cover reveal involving Jenner, getting more notoriety than music artist Akon, and his humanitarian efforts in Africa. Snoop said on Instagram, “Shout out to Akon! He is about to supply 600 million africans with solar power. I’m really upset that this isn’t major news but that science project bruce jenner is #Society,” the image stated.
Snoop’s meme even got more popular when former New York Knicks player J.R. Smith, shared Snoop’s post on his Instagram page. Smith stated, “Hmmm… What’s more important???”, Smith asked in the caption, before deleting it from his account. Snoop’s Instagram post about Jenner sparked an outrage on social media. One person commented on the post saying, “But when someone else changes up their identity suddenly its not worth it. Not buying another song of yours EVER.” Another person wrote, “This is 2015. Do you not believe in the pursuit of happiness? Your comments are just sad and disappointing.”
Snoop will receive much backlash from people all over the media and maybe even in person. However, Snoop could possibly have a point about this situation. Does Jenner’s situation deserve more notoriety than what Akon is doing in Africa?
