Licking envelopes – what a way to go. If you’re a Seinfeld fan, you know exactly what we’re talking about. George Costanza’s (Jason Alexander) fiancée, Susan Biddle Ross (Heidi Swedberg), went out that way, and it was a joke. You heard that right. Seinfeld killed off a recurring character as a joke. And it worked. It was hilarious. But why did it happen?

Well, Alexander revealed the real reason on Wednesday morning in a radio interview with Howard Stern. Apparently, even though Alexander says Swedberg was perfectly nice, performing with her was difficult. After one episode where Jerry Seinfeld (as a sitcom version of himself) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) had a great deal of scenes with Swedberg, Louis-Dreyfus remarked, “Don’t you just wanna kill her?” And that was that.

Pretty strange, but then again, so was Seinfeld.
