I have to give this kid props for coming up with a creative excuse after he crashed his parents’ car.

So, what exactly happened? Well, a 10-year-old Norwegian boy stole his parents’ car to visit his grandparents, but that’s not even the best part of this whole story. After he lost control of the car and ended up in a snowy ditch he told police that he was a dwarf who had forgotten his driver’s license!

The boy — who lived in a town 110 kms (68 miles) north of Oslo — placed his 18-month-old sister in the car while his parents were still sleeping, and went to visit his grandparents who lived in Valdres, about 60 kms away.

All was going well, until about 10 kms into his journey he went off the road and was found by a snow plow driver. The snowplow driver then alerted the police.

“The parents woke up and discovered that the children were missing and that someone had taken off with their car. They were pretty upset, as you can imagine,” said Baard Christiansen, a spokesman for the Best Oppland police district.

Police said that the two kids weren’t injured, and thankfully the car wasn’t damaged. The good news is that no charges were filed.

What was one of the most creative excuses you came up with as a kid, Hot Zoners?
