This is truly an incredible story. In Iran, a man who commited murder and had a noose around his neck, was blindfolded and ready to die, was saved by the mother of the boy he killed in a street fight years ago.

He was supposed to have been blindfolded and hung when the victim’s parents were to kick the chair out from under him. However, the mother of the victim slapped him in the face instead and removed the noose from his neck asking that he be spared. The killer’s mother, who was watching, ran up to the woman and embraced her.

The victim’s father, Abdolghani Hosseinzadeh, said that his wife had a change of heart after her son appeared in a dream of hers the night before. “Three days ago, my wife saw my elder son in a dream telling her that they are in a good place and for her not to retaliate. This calmed my wife and we decided to think more until the day of the execution,” he said. The two had already lost a son in a motorbike accident when he was eleven-years-old.

The killer, Balal, was to be executed for a street fight that happened seven years ago in the Iranian town of Royan, when he stabbed 18-year-old Abdollah Hosseinzadeh Jnr. His mother believes that Balal did not mean to kill her son.

As part of Sharia law, the parents of the victim are allowed to take part in the execution as a form of retribution. Mrs. Hosseinzadeh did the opposite.
