An Off-duty Police Officer From Washington D.C. Was Shot In Dearborn Early This Morning

An off-duty police officer from Washington D.C. was shot in Dearborn early Monday morning, June 1st, 2015.

This shooting took place at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Oakman Blvd in Dearborn, near the Pantheion Club following a carjacking incident.

It is reported that the officer was in the truck that was targeted. After the shooting, he was taken by his brother-in-law, who was the driver of the truck, to St. John Hospital where is currently recovering.

The white truck the two were in has approximately ten bullet holes, and the police are presently looking for suspects.

Thankfully, the officer is expected to recover.
