An Arizona Amber Alert that went out last night has been called off early this morning. Two year old Eric Smith Jr. was found safe in a light blue 2006 minivan at around 5:30am this morning. The minivan is believed to belong to the suspect, in this case 19-year-old babysitter Anna Marie Johnson. She is also the cousin to the two-year-old boy’s mother.

He was abducted by Johnson at around 11:40pm last night from the family’s home in Coolidge, Arizona. Eric Smith Senor says that Johnson had been having some problems and had to move in with the family. He does not understand why she would do something like this.

The suspect’s minivan was found a few hundred feet away from the main road on 51st avenue near the Vee Quiva Casino. The two-year-old was found responsive and in the father’s own words, “In good health.”

Anna Marie Johnson is described as Native American; she has long black hair and brown eyes. She is five foot eleven inches. The authorities are asking Johnson to turn herself in and present her side of the story to them. In any event, if you have any information on the whereabouts of Ms. Anna Marie Johnson, please contact the Gila River Police Department at (520)-562-4511 or dial 911.
