Current or former professional athletes never cease to surprise me anymore, as I thought I had seen all there was to be seen. Former NBA player and current CBS analyst Greg Anthony was arrested Friday evening for solicitation of a prostitute.
According to WJLA, Anthony was arrested at 5:46 p.m. Friday in the Washington district and the arrest was part of a police sting operation. Apparently, Anthony faces a misdemeanor solicitation charge, which is punishable by up to 180 days in jail.
After hearing of the arrest, CBS has suspended Anthony indefinitely. It truly is mind boggling to me how famous, successful people continue to make poor judgments. This is not a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or hanging out with the wrong crowd. This is just a case of consciously making a decision that has been illegal for quite some time now. It’s really sad, especially since a successful and popular guy like Anthony can easily find better company than illegal prostitutes.
We do not know all the details, but it does not look good for Anthony’s professional career.
