A website that includes white supremacy statements is being linked to Dylan Roof. Roof was recently arrested for a hate crime against 9 African-Americans which he killed. There are photos of Roof being arrested in South Carolina, holding weapons, visiting a cemetery for Confederate soldiers, and burning and spitting on an American flag. There are also historic photos on the site including a Confederate museum. Out of all the 60 photos on the website, only one of them was under Roof’s name, and it’s not known who took the pictures.
There is also a written out rant by the site’s creator including statements saying that he’s becoming “racially aware,” and explaining that he was not raised in a racist environment, but was “awakened” by the case of Trayvon Martin, who was an African-American man that was fatally shot, unarmed in Florida. The writer concludes by saying that he has no choice but to fight, and says he has chosen Charleston because of its historical importance and because it “at one time had the highest ratio of Blacks to Whites in the country.”
Through investigation, a reverse domain look-up service from Roof’s mother’s home address, found that Roof had bought the site domain in February. However, it’s still unclear who the creator of the website is.
