The FIFA 2022 World Cup will not be held in the country of Qatar when 2022 rolls around. At least that’s what one man believes.
FIFA committee member Theo Zwanziger believes that the World Cup will be moved to another country. The worlds most watch tournament will not be in Qatar because of the scorching temperatures in the Middle East country. With that in mind, FIFA is worried about the safety and well-being of it’s players on the field during the soccer games.
Qatar is insisting that it is a good place to have the World Cup due to the cooling technologies that’s included in it’s stadiums. FIFA says those changes are not good enough for it’s players and visiting supporters.
FIFA is mulling over moving its World Cup to a European winter date to avoid a hot summer. Moving the date from June-July to another date would severely disturb other soccer schedule from different leagues.
No decision has been made.
