iPhone users are going crazy, trying to download iOS 8. The issue is the amount of time and space the download takes. People are deleting pictures, apps and music to make room. Not only is it time consuming but very frustrating. After much research, trial and error, I finally found 5 easy steps that will hopefully make your life easier when downloading iOS8:
Requirements: Computer/laptop, iTunes, patience
Step 1: Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.
Step 2: Click on the “iPhone” button.
Step 3: Click “check for update”
Step 4: When it tells you iOS8 is available to download, click “Download and Update.”
If you cannot update due to the limited amount of space on your phone do not fret. Simply go to to Settings > General > Usage. This will show you what is using up majority of the space on your phone (messages, photos, etc). DO NOT DELETE BEFORE saving them to your computer. When finished, feel free to backup those files on an external drive.
Step 5: Follow the instructions, and make sure your iPhone stays connected. It should take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to download iOS8 this way.
Huge thanks to the Huffington Post for providing great information on iOS8.
