Seemingly, the all white Oscars topic has taken over the media, as the only only trending topic this past week in Hollywood. But, some recognized hip hop stars like DJ Mustard and Big Sean are busy making a difference by giving $10,000 donations to the Flint water crisis.
Big Sean has created a fundraiser called #HealFlintKids, and is a segment of Sean’s current charity, The Sean Anderson Foundation. The charity sustains the Community Foundation of Greater Flint Michigan’s Flint Child Health, and development fund.
LA record producer, DJ Mustard stated that because he is a father, he felt the need to get involved and make a change as well. DJ Mustard expressed admiration to Sean for creating this campaign, and encourages all his fans to help the cause.
Other hip hop artists who also funded the crisis include, Wiz Khalifa, The Game, Meek Mill, and Michigan Natives, Diddy and Eminem.
The Flint water crisis began in April 2015, and the charitable efforts have brought more attention to the crisis, causing more and more positive developments.
Who will be the next celebrity who gives back to Flint’s ongoing water crisis?
