It appears that university attacks are on the rise and are not ceasing. In the latest attack four people were stabbed at UC Merced University in California on Wednesday Morning. Among the victims are two students, a staff member and a vendor.
It has been reported that the attacker, who was fatally shot by campus police, was in his 20s but authorities are unsure if he was a student at the university and what his motives were.
One witness said she saw the suspect running from an officer, he was wearing all black and had a hood covering most of his face.
Two of the victims were taken to hospital via helicopter while the other two were treated on the university campus.
It has been reported that the campus is currently closed and classes have been canceled.
There have been few details released about the incident other than it took place around 8 a.m. this morning. The name of the attacker has not yet been released.
The school has about 6,600 students and opened a decade ago. It lies 120 miles south of California’s capital Sacramento.
