A few days ago, we reported that former first lady Hillary Clinton had announced her second run for the presidency. Since then, reactions to the announcement have taken over the internet.
Recently a spokesperson for the Clinton Campaign addressed one of the most debated hot button issues of the election, marriage equality. The statement expresses Clinton’s support for marriage equality and her hope for the Supreme Court to embrace it as well, stating “Hillary Clinton supports marriage equality and hopes the Supreme Court will come down on the side of same sex couples guaranteed that constitutional right.”
This announcement makes Hillary Clinton the first of the candidates for presidency to support the idea that marriage equality is a constitutional right.
