Arthur is the first Atlantic hurricane for the 2014 season that will bring heavy rain, rough seas, high winds and rip currents to areas along the Atlantic coast of the United States.
The hurricane looks to be taking a northeasterly path and the greatest impacts will come Thursday night into Friday. This storm will most likely cancel firework shows across the east coast and hinder July Fourth celebration plans for thousands, unfortunately.
The worst of Arthur will hit the Carolinas, before moving up the coast, reaching southern Massachusetts by Friday.
“The main impact will be northward-expanding rough surf with strong rip currents from the Florida east coast to New Jersey, Long Island and southeastern New England,” AccuWeather Hurricane Expert Dan Kottlowski said.
