There’s a difference between a geek and a nerd. A geek is into really cool stuff and knows a lot about computers. A nerd is into really cool stuff and usually makes or collects art about that really cool stuff. It seems to us that Kjetil Nordin, a skilled computer programmer from Norway, is the best of both worlds. Why? He has spent the last six years crocheting a map of famous video game, Super Mario Bros. 3.

We’re not going to beat around the bush. That thing looks accurate. It’s not surprising, though, once you hear about the amount effort and detail Nordin really put into this. He researched the perfect and precise yarn color he would need for this map, and when the water looked a little more purple than blue, he crocheted over it. That’s dedication to your craft right there.

You can find pictures of Nordin’s epically nerdy project all over the Internet today. But for now, we want to know. Is there anything just as epically nerdy that you’ve ever done? Leave your thoughts (and confessions!) in the comments.
