A Nevada man was arrested after he allegedly stole a plane and, while in the air, made a shocking confession over the radio to an air traffic controller.
Evan Grant stole the plane from a Las Vegas airport on Monday (May 4), and ended up having a nearly hour-long conversation with an air traffic controller who tried to convince him to land, according to The Huffington Post.
Grant makes a shocking confession to the controller, captured by audio that has since been obtained.
“I’m a pedophile, Tony,” the 27-year-old former flight attendant said into the radio.
The controller tried his best to calm Grant down.
“I just want to get you down on the ground safely. We’ll grab some coffee, go to my house, whatever. We’ll have a — we’ll just talk, OK? Just come on down,” Tony urged.
Grant allegedly admitted to sexually abusing a young boy, despite trying for years to “change the way I think,” in his words.
“For the first time in my life, I had a weak moment,” Grant told Tony. “I did things to one of my best friend’s son.”
Tony was eventually successful in talking Grant down, who said, “I’ve already committed enough felonies,” as he made the decision to land.
Reportedly, Grant was charged with grand larceny for stealing the plane, as well as two counts of lewdness with a child for the alleged incident of abuse.
