Not sure if Michael Vick is the best judge of character considering his past behavior off the field, and most recent performance on the field but regardless, Vick is making some bold statements of the future of Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston.

According to NJ.com, Vick said about Winston that, “I think he’s the future of the NFL. I’ve been around so long, I appreciate guys coming out of college. I look forward to watching him. I have high expectations for him.”

That certainly is high praise for someone who has not even taken a snap in professional football. Although Winston has been impressive in college football, it is getting so hard for guys to make that transition from college to professional that sometimes even the highest draft picks don’t pan out.

Vick continued to tell NJ.com that, “But I do know one thing — he may make some poor decisions, but he gets on that football field and he plays his a** off. Yeah he can mature. He’ll mature … I think the kid will continue to improve.”

Although it is certain that Winston will get drafted into the NFL, only time will tell whether or not he can be successful at the next level and prove Vick right. Until then, it is all speculation.
