Lionsgate and Saban Brands have announced this morning that there will be another Mighty Morphin Power Rangers film to hit the big screen.

The whole craze was started more than 20 years ago. Two movies were produced in the 90’s: “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie” in 1995 and “Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie” in 1997.

The press release said that, “The new film franchise will re-envision the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world.”

No timeline for the film has been released, nor has any word about whether or not it will fit into the original Power Rangers mythology. It has been said though that there is a, “deep and detailed mythology.”
