On Wednesday afternoon a pregnant woman was stopped from crossing a street in Los Angeles because the road was closed for President Barack Obama’s motorcade to pass through.
NBC4 reporter Robert Kovacik witnessed the woman take shelter at a bus stop bench on the south side of Third Street east of Robertson Boulevard.
Luckily the woman was with her spouse at the time. Witnesses and two LAPD officers on scene said it appeared that the woman was in labor and an ambulance was called to the location in case of emergency.
NBC4 talked to the woman on the scene, and she asked not to be shown on camera. She was out of breath, and scared.
According to police there were two medical emergencies during the president’s motorcade, the woman’s pregnancy and a man having post – surgical problems.
