In response to the widely talked about shooting in Ferguson, Missouri on Aug. 9 where police officer Darren Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown, a few players from the St. Louis Rams took place in a silent protest before their game Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
Their protest depicted the popular “Hands up, don’t shoot” movement as the Rams’ players came out of the tunnel with their hands up. Earlier this week, it was announced that Darren Wilson would not be in indicted and is now free of any legal blame in the shooting. Writer Matthew Cherry tweeted out a vine and some pictures of the Rams’ players participating in their silent protest:

Do you think that it is appropriate for NFL players to protest like this on the field, or should they keep their personal opinions away from their work?
